Markus,
Not sure what the exact sales numbers for Fat 4 Idiots might be. Last year I ghostwrote the sales letter for one of their competitors who told me that the sales letter you see on that site converts at around 0.5% so it must get an obscene amount of affiliate traffic. Due to signing a non-disclosure, I can't tell you much more than that.
You'll notice on their sales letter that there's no traditional testimonials, case studies, or even proof that their system works. Yet it still makes a lot of sales. Amazing, huh?
Mike
Ben Settle was a guest on my
weekly talkcast, and I asked him to look at the FatLoss4Idiots landing page...
... How in the world do they generate over $21 million (reportedly)?
Ben was stumped... well sort of. We both agreed that the unusual layout made was different than the typical ClickBank landing page and that might have contributed to their amazing success.
But the real answer for (for me) is simple. With ClickBank, you get an army of salespeople (affiliates) selling for you 24/7.
FatLoss4Idiots isn't the only ebook making a killing...
... One person you should keep close tabs on is Mike Geary of
TruthAboutAbs.com. I understand he generated over $5 million in sales from a similarly low-priced ebook. Geary's marketing funnel is breathtaking. He's a split testing junkie (like me) so he's always improving response for his affiliates. I HIGHLY suggest watching him. Even his drip emailing to affiliates is just awesome -- get it here:
http://www.truthaboutabs.com/Affiliate-Info.htmlIt's one of the best free lessons on pay per click advertising I've ever seen. (Be careful though... some of the tips are merely affiliate links in disguise) -- but other than that, it's amazing information.
Onward.
Whether it's fair or not, it seems writing great copy isn't the most important element of selling stuff. Proof: look at anything John Ree$e sells.
Leads and the offer seems to win out every time.
Most of the products found in the first page within the ClickBank Marketplace generate tens of thousands of dollars in sale each and every day. That's millions of dollars in revenue for delivering ones and zeros.
So when people scoff at $39 ebooks, they might reconsider.
Must be nice eh? Write an ebook. Put the fulfillment on autopilot. Hang at the beach for life.
