They recently won a contest that Clayton Makepeace was running.

(wish'd I'd known, especially since they were giving gifts to anyone who entered!  Though I did think the post describing the contest was a bit difficult to follow.)

There were other winners, but I didn't recognize them.

Mike won for best email and Dean for best blog post!

(I don't have my email client open at the moment to post the links, alas...maybe the winners will post them...)

Congrats!

Wow, I'm buzzing a bit at the moment about hearing that news ... and that's thanks to Judy's post -- I saw that before I got to see the official email!

Congrats to Mike -- it's a fantastic email!

My blog post: http://www.deankennedy.com/blog/copy-tip-16-must-have-resource/

I do fondly remember writing it on Christmas day, just before we sat down to lunch! I can't say I thought I'd land a "Grand Prize", but was glad for the prompt to share Clayton's fantastic resource, and also getting a couple more great info products gratis in the process. I did chuckle at myself when I wrote:

If you were a business owner,
and you could marry a website,
this would be THE ONE!

The other winners were (2 in each category) ...

I had a look at all the winners -- they're some great stuff in there, and also in the entries that didn't make the grand prize list.

Best of all, it was another valuable lesson from Clayton, he really is a master.

Cheers,

Thanks everyone for your kind words!

I got the news late last night and I'm still blown away this morning.  Congrats to Dean Kennedy -- Dean I sent you a Twitter message to say congrats late last night.

Dean's blog posting is awesome, especially the excellent way he incorporated graphic design and layout to enhance the post.

I haven't had a chance to review every winner's entry but there's some great ones there.

Take care,

Mike

Thanks Mike -- yeah, I was offline when you posted, and came here to the board before jumping in to Twitter, but thanks muchly for the tweet! Funnily enough that blog post has now suddenly become the most popular one on my blog!

I'm glad I took action and at the same time helped Clayton spread the word on TTP -- to me it's like the Halbert archives, something you never want to lose!

Dean, I hope you have an optin popup on your blog!!!

I can recommend Robert Plank's:

He's got something that can be used on WP blogs....

Dear Dean and Mike:

Hats off and congratulations to each of you.

You're both talented writers; we know that.

But I know from first-hand experience with each of you, that you're classy guys as well.

I'm happy for you.

Best,

Congratulations to Dean and Mike!  I got that email notice as well
and was happy to see names of winners that I recognized.

Now you guys have an extra 'endorsement' to use in your marketing.

Thanks again everyone for the congrats!!

Judy -- no, no opt-in yet  Shocked  -- I do have a link to follow me on Twitter from it, but the opt-in -- that's a job for this upcoming 3-day weekend.

Martha from Clayton's office confirmed with me today my Power Summit collection is on the way -- that's something I've wanted since it was launched in November 2007, I feel like a 5 year-old at Christmas waiting for Santa to arrive!  Grin

And yeah, Ray, will be using that for sure!
