People have to believe that you're not going to run away with their money; you're going to work with them to solve their problems and you're going to be the shoulder to cry on and be able to get them through. You're compassionate about their requirements and do what you mean and help them achieve the results they're looking for.

That's the difference between someone who has clients and someone who just wants a customer and is constantly looking for business.

Absolutely! I'm glad that you've said this.

I like to develop ongoing relationships with my clients. For me, it's not about getting a project; it's about developing a long-term working relationship with my client. I like working long-term with clients because the more you get to know them and how they operate their businesses, the better you can actually serve them...and they'll refer others to you.

Does everyone else besides me know who Mel Blanc is/was?

He was famously known as "The man of a thousand voices." An email copywriter in particular has to write in many different voices.

Anita,

Do you find that all of your potential clients understand this reference?

I'm curious.

I only use that tag line in this forum, for fun. It's not a focal point of my marketing. :-) I do mention the phrase in one of the blog posts on my blog (www.AnitaAshland.com) and I explain who Mel is.

As a side note, here is a picture of Mel Blanc's grave:

That's got to be the best example of headstone copy I've ever seen!
