I'd recommend the No B.S. series by Dan Kennedy.

Just solid marketing information and ideas. Although,
I got a little tired of the shameless lead capture
attempts throughout the books though.

Still, these books can be a real eye opener to anyone
working with offline businesses...

I'll second Ben Suarez "7 Steps to Freedom".

Loved his story of coming from nothing... failing... asking Gary Halberts opinion about his business, "You don't have a prayer".  Asking Halbert a few more questions.

Trial and error... testing and failing some more then succeeding.
