I've noticed that the ipad has really split the public and i'd like to get some more opinions on it.
I'm an avid book reader and i would only buy the ipad for its ibook features, would you recommend me to wait and get the ipad or just buy a kindle? the kindles are cheaper on amazon.com

thanks in advance!

I've got a nook (the Barnes & Noble version of the kindle), and I'm really happy with it. It fits easily in my purse, I can download free books from Project Gutenberg and other sites, it remembers where I'm at in all the different books I'm reading, and with the newest update there's even a beta web browser. If all you're really interested in is the reading capabilities, I'd go with the nook or the Kindle.

If I were going to get an e-book reader this is the one I'd get:

Thank Subtle for providing the link in the Worst Copy iPad post.

I'd get this one because it has 2 pages like a book. You can close it like a book and it's 'cover' will protect the screen pages. A 1 page tablet just doesn't cut it for me. I want something that feels more like a book.

I really don't know anything about these readers, but that one just looks cool and it seems like you can do more with it.
