I have a client that offers a transcription service with a twist.

The twist is the fact that - rather than directly transcribing the audio, they'll write an ebook out of it.

So, after copying the conversation down from audio, useless words will be removed, and it will be re-written as an ebook, blog post, or whatever you desire.

They want around 800 - 100 words of copy for a single page on a separate domain, which then leads to their main transcription website.

The copy is to be written more as a pre-sell and the call to action is just to arrange a consultation by clicking through to the main site.

Now, as this is one of my first assigments, I'm trying to make sure it comes out well.

Trouble is, I'm struggling to figure out exactly what "problem" this service addresses.

It helps with those who: hate writing, don't have time to write ebooks, and those who already have any type of existing audio that could be used.

I'm trying to address the above concerns, but cannot seem to make the argument compelling.

Any suggestions? How would you construct this type of offer?

Thanks in advance.  Grin

You, the client get all the glory while they do all the work? You have time to do what you do best while the scribers do what they do best. Have you ever tried transcribing? It takes a very patient person to do all that listening and writing down. And the good ones learn to do it at a fast clip without missing a beat.

Try transcribing something... I'll bet you can write the benefits to the client after doing so.

When I get in this position I always revert to money. Making it that is. How can this service and product make their client money? What's the real benefit of having a transcription and specifically an ebook?

I know several people who do teleseminars and will then have it transcribed. What they do is pitch it as part of the sale of the teleseminar. So if they can charge $29.99 for a CD then maybe they can charge $39.99 when it includes a transcription. Then break that out into the key concepts, aka crib notes, for another product (which may include key ideas from several CDs).

Now, back to the benefit of an Ebook. The only one I can think of is if it's a product in itself that can be sold. Using the example above maybe it is a standalone sale for $14.99.

Problem I have with ala Carte is it leaves money on the table if there's no whole enchilada option to buy everything, which I'd spend most of my time pitching and have sections discussing the individual components. But definitely, I want them to get the big package.

Hope that helps.

For busy internet marketers. Go straight from interview to eBook. Save all that time editing it and get your product out without delay.

When you need to get a product out FAST to take advantage of the market you can have a high quality eBook ready to sell within 24 hours. And it will only take you one hour to do the interview.

Thanks Hugh and everyone who contributed to the thread.

Would you work the above benefit into the headline?

I think that woud be great to include, but unfortunately the client says each project takes like 7 - 10 days...

Could anyone suggest how to come up with a great headline for the above benefits?

I've been trying to look for similar services to get ideas from, without much success.
